Math Placement Test

Today I took the math placement test. The first part was an elementary algebra test with 12 questions. The second part was a college level test with 20 questions. That one was a little harder because there were a lot of things in it that I didn't even study in my Math Review for Standardized Tests book. Two terms I forgot the meanings of are sine and cosine, but they do sound familiar, like I've done those kind of problems before in highschool. One of the women there said that there really is no passing or not passing the math placement test. They only use the scores that you get to determine what kind of math course you should start out with. I got a 117 for the first part and a 54 for the second part. I don't know what those numbers mean, I only hope I won't have to start with a remedial math course like Math 060. I'm supposed to find out exactly how I did next week on the 17nth at 6:00 p.m. I also scheduled to meet with the Career and Counseling Center on Wednesday and I will be scheduling my next courses on Thursday July 20th.

Well, I think that is the right way to look at it, just as an indicator as to what courses to start with. I'm sure it will be fine.
